Beautiful waterfalls, verdant green hillsides, interesting rock formations.. this hill station of Malshej Ghat has all of this. the best time to visit this place is between July and September. In addition to its spectacular flora and fauna, Malshej Ghat has historic forts, resorts and sanctuaries.
How to reach:- By Train :- The nearest railhead is Kalyan.. (road way is d best) By Road :- Take NH3 reach kalyan then take NH222 which goes via Kalyan, Murbad, Saralgaon and tokawade to Malshej ghat.
Accommodation :- best option to stay is MTDC(Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation) resort. The resort is huge and the view is fabulous.. rooms are clean, ample playing areas for kids..  You need to book hotel rooms in advance, especially at weekends during the monsoon. Hotel booking can be done from any MTDC tourism office or online at http://www.maharashtratourism.gov.in. They have limited food options and there is no other option nearby for food .. so you have to depend on them..

mumbai ppl can also enjoy one day picnic ie early morning drive to malshej ghat .. stop over at mtdc .. have some great time & evening back to mumbai.. they also provide parking for outsiders not staying at mtdc resort :)

Caution : There are roadblocks & traffic jams on ghats due to rocks, soil, and other mountain debris falling on roads.. Be safe .. Drive safe.. Dont drink n drive.. Keep your bheja cool on ghats :p...
enjoy nature & beautiful drive :)
